Two Young Broadcasting, LLC stations—ABC affiliates WKRN Nashville’s News 2 and WATE TV6 in Knoxville—are partnering with event and entertainment listings search engine eviesays to power their online event and entertainment calendars, it was announced today.
The stations will adopt the eviesays calendar technology on their websites immediately. The calendars, which will be privately branded to have the look and feel of the stations, will enable visitors to find, browse, and interact with local events, as well as hundreds of thousands of national events residing on eviesays.com.

If you’ve noticed we’ve been a bit quiet lately, here’s why! We’re launching Event of the Day in the Nashville area in the coming months. To learn more and receive the latest updates, go ahead and sign up here. Talk to you soon…
Here at our headquarters in Nashville, we’re known for keeping a relatively cool head when a celebrity like Taylor Swift or Vince Gill walks into a restaurant or turns up next to us in line at Whole Foods. Of course, this includes everyone but me.
Such was the case when an official van for Antique Archaeology, the treasure hunting business featured on the History Channel’s “American Pickers,” appeared in a parking lot nearby our office. I kept a close eye on the vehicle until, sure enough, star Mike Wolfe entered the van and ended up driving in front of me in traffic (a coincidence, I swear) for a few blissful miles.
This star encounter got me thinking about all the ways to see one’s favorite reality television heroes in the flesh. You might not know this, but many of them tour the country or host parties or seminars that get you off the couch to catch a real-life glimpse. Read on to find out where!
As the mom of two marvelous, malodorous, fuzzy, four-legged beasts (some like to call them “dogs”), I can offer keen insight on the joys of being a pet owner. No matter how stinky or slobbery my boys get, I cannot imagine my home without their thundering presence. Recent studies have shown the mental and physical health benefits of owning a pet—from lowering our blood pressure to boosting our immune system to loving us unconditionally (can’t say that about your ex-boyfriend, can you?), these critters are on our side.
I am the proud mother of these two rascals.
On September 27th, Matthew Sweet releases his 16th album, Modern Art. If “She Walks The Night” is any indication, he has only gotten better as a musician and songwriter over the years. Next month he will be touring the U.S. Check out the dates below and listen to one of my favorite tracks from 1991′s Girlfriend (arguably one of the top five albums to be released that year): “Does She Talk?”
Ryan Adams hasn’t toured the U.S. in a while, but with his new album, Fire & Ashes (listen here), hitting the shelves on October 11th he decided a few live performances were in order. The dates for the short tour are below along with a video for “Come Pick Me Up.”
The L.A. by way of New Orleans duo Pepper Rabbit has dropped their sophomore album “Red Velvet Snow Ball” this week and fans of their lush instrument-rich sound will not be disappointed. It looks like they’re going to be hitting the road at the end of the month. Listen to a sampler of tunes from the new album (and score a couple of free MP3s) and watch an older clip after the tour schedule.
In lieu of this week's pay, here's a picture of a pepper vaguely shaped like a rabbit.
Still touring in support of “Codes and Keys,” the indie-rock stalwarts have announced a fall leg of their tour. This time they will be playing with the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Telekinesis, Explosions in the Sky, the Hold Steady, and the Head and the Heart. The dates are below and peep a video for their next single “Stay Young, Go Dancing.”

Who says you need growth hormones and pesticides to produce awesomely huge veggies?
Our first cucumber is a bit deformed, but since it came from our office garden, we’ve all agreed we love it anyway.
